  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years as of the application date.
  • The applicant must belong to a traditional artisan trade such as carpentry, tailoring, goldsmithing, pottery, etc.
  • No educational qualifications are mandatory for this scheme.
  • Applicants must not be defaulters of any financial institutions or government bodies.

Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana UP Benefits

The Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana UP scheme provides several benefits to artisans:

Skill Development Training:

  • The scheme will include skill enhancement programs for traditional craftsmen through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Mission wherever applicable. For on-the-job training, craftsmen will be trained under the guidance of master craftsmen.
  • Beneficiaries will receive a 6-day residential training program free of cost. The training will be conducted at the Tehsil or district headquarters.
  • The curriculum for training will be designed and approved by a committee formed under the Director of Industries. This committee will consider the current situation and long-term objectives to create a modernized course tailored to each trade.
  • Training will be provided through ITIs, the Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board, or other recognized institutions. Each batch will consist of a maximum of 25 trainees.
  • Trainees will receive stipends equivalent to the minimum wage for skilled labor, as prescribed by the Labor Department. Payment will be made directly to the beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
  • In addition to a stipend, training institutions will be reimbursed for training costs (up to ₹700 per trainee per day) and for arranging accommodation, meals, and other necessities for the trainees (up to ₹300 per trainee per day).

Rashtriya Parivarik Labh Yojana

Distribution of Toolkits:

  • Modern toolkits based on advanced technologies will be provided to all trainees after completing the skill enhancement training.
  • The Directorate of Industries, Uttar Pradesh, will oversee the preparation of trade-wise toolkit lists, price determination, and distribution. The committee mentioned above will also assist in this process.

Margin Money Loan Facility:

  • To address financial challenges, beneficiaries who have undergone training and received toolkits will be eligible for loans under existing schemes like the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), the Chief Minister’s Youth Self-Employment Scheme, the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, or any other applicable state/central government schemes.
  • The Director of Industries will prioritize loan disbursement and set targets for this purpose.
